Cookie Policy
Calceum Limited (“Calceum”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on calceum.com. This policy tells you what they are, which ones we use, and how to manage your preferences.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners. We also use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage; in this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.
Cookies may be:
- Session cookies, which expire when you close your browser; or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.
- First-party cookies, set by calceum.com; or third-party cookies, set by another organisation whose service we use (for example, our website analytics provider).
2. The cookies we use
We aim to keep cookie use on our website to a minimum. We use only two categories of cookie: strictly necessary and analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site targeting cookies on calceum.com, and we do not set any non-essential cookies until you have given your consent.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to function and to remember choices you make. They cannot be switched off in our systems and do not require your consent. They do not track you and are not used for advertising.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie | calceum.com | Records your cookie consent choice (which categories you accepted) | 182 days |
sidebar_state | calceum.com | Remembers the open/collapsed state of the navigation sidebar (documentation pages) | 7 days |
We also use your browser’s local and session storage for similar essential purposes - for example to remember your light/dark theme preference and which navigation sections are expanded. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
If you click a “Book a call” button, we load a scheduling tool provided by Cal.com so you can choose a time. Cal.com may set cookies that are necessary to operate the booking (for example to maintain your session and protect the form). Because they load only when you choose to book, and are required to deliver a service you have explicitly requested, they are treated as strictly necessary and fall outside the analytics consent below. If you never start a booking, Cal.com is not loaded at all.
Analytics cookies
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how visitors find and use the website so we can improve it. The information is aggregated and used only to measure and improve site performance. These cookies are set only with your consent and are never set if you decline.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years | |
_ga_<id> | Persists analytics session state | 2 years |
We use Google’s Consent Mode, which means Google Analytics stays disabled by default and is only loaded and allowed to store cookies after you accept analytics cookies. If you later withdraw consent, these cookies are cleared.
3. Your consent
When you first visit calceum.com you will see a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot work without them. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.
From the banner you can:
- Accept all cookies;
- Reject all non-essential cookies; or
- Manage preferences to choose which categories to allow.
Rejecting non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting them, and the website will still work. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Manage cookies” link in the website footer. Your choice is remembered across calceum.com and its subdomains (such as docs.calceum.com), so you are not asked again as you move between them.
4. How to manage cookies
In addition to our cookie banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, and block cookies from some or all websites. The instructions for the main browsers are available here:
- Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari each provide cookie controls in their settings or preferences menus.
Please note that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, may stop parts of the website from working.
Useful independent guidance is available at www.aboutcookies.org and from the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services on our website:
- Google Analytics (Google) - analytics cookies, set only with your consent. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Cal.com - booking cookies that are loaded only if you start booking a call, and are treated as strictly necessary (see section 2).
These third parties may process limited information about your visit. We do not control these cookies; please refer to the relevant third party’s own privacy and cookie information.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal or operational reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be brought to your attention where appropriate.
